Why Invisible String Cello Choir?

Invisible String Cello Choir was created to support beginning and amateur cellists of all ages. Being a beginner is as important as being an expert. Beginners, yes even late start beginners, are courageous, curious, determined, tenacious, and committed. Being a beginner is serious business! Our founder is a late starter amateur cellist who discovered her passion for music at a transitional point in her life. She was used to being an expert in her professional roles so being a beginner was exciting and refreshing terrain. The beauty in starting something new is difficult to match! Inspired by her teacher, Danielle wanted to honor and respect beginners and amateurs as serious, committed musicians (who also know how to have fun) and thus the creation of the ISCC.

The invisible string that brings us all together regardless of age or level of experience is our joy in making music. As humans, we are connected in infinitely diverse ways and what better way to celebrate and honor those connections across time, age, gender, and more than through music? No matter your age or experience level, ISCC honors you exactly where you are in a non-competitive yet committed environment.  We also love to have a good time together! Come prepared to work and laugh.

ISCC is a group that gathers to support one another, to celebrate the unifying power of music and encourage each other's development as musicians no matter our age or stage in life.  We are all in different phases of development in our musical journeys and we can all learn from one another.  ISCC commands and yields a focus on positive thinking, supportive camaraderie and a terrific sense of humor.

We gather regularly as a group with new and different music  to sharpen our skills and experience the joy of making music together. Bring your music stand, your instrument and your sense of humor!

Join us for our upcoming meetings where we will be learning and refining classical and contemporary music for cello choir. We can’t wait to share our love for music together! We are so thrilled you're thinking of joining our cello choir!

FAQs

  • ISCC welcomes any beginner or amateur cellist of any age.

If you are a professional musician and are interested in ISCC, please don’t hesitate to reach out as we are always looking for artists and coaches to participate.

  • No, not at all. The ISCC is a casual, friendly environment where we play the music in front of us with people around that day. If we are prepping for a performance, different rules apply (not worrisome ones, though)

  • Not at all! We love encouragement from family members!

  • Yes! We always want to honor our members and play music that is meaningful. Even if you want to try out a song by the Rolling Stones, let’s go for it!

  • If you play a different stringed instrument and would like to join us, please do! We are thrilled to welcome anyone
